SWITCHFOOT Announce New Album Native Tongue and North American Tour

October 19, 2018

Paste Magazine Debuts SWITCHFOOT's YouTube Premiere of "Native Tongue" Music Video

Nashville, Tenn. (Oct. 19, 2018) - GRAMMY® award-winning rock band SWITCHFOOT expands on their trademark epic soundscapes and explores new themes and textures on Native Tongue, the group’s 11th full-length album set for release on Jan. 18th, 2019 via Fantasy Records. The band also announced the North American leg of the Native Tongue Tour, which kicks off in Asheville, N.C. on Feb. 14th. (Full list of dates below.) PRE-ORDER NATIVE TONGUE HERE

Paste magazine debuted the Native Tongue album art and the YouTube Premiere of the dynamic music video for the title track written by SWITCHFOOT front man Jon Foreman and bassist Tim Foreman with Brent Kutzle of One Republic. The lyrics are a poignant reminder, "Before we learn to hate. Love is our Native Tongue."

"These are polarizing times, where the loudest voice is often the voice of anger or fear. This album is an attempt to sing that hope into life. To bring a group of diverse songs under one common banner. Hatred is not your native language. Love is your Native Tongue," expressed Jon Foreman.

In the midst of an impressive career spanning more than 20 years, Native Tongue is an inspired work of insight and passion from a band that continues to find strength in our differences and hope in what binds us.  The 14-song project, recorded primarily at Melody League Studios in the band's hometown of San Diego, Calif., includes a wide array of music from the hard-hitting anthemic title-track to more reflective songs such as "Prodigal Soul," "Joy Invincible," and “Voices,” (co-written and produced with their friends in One Republic). The band interlace empathy and introspection, urging us to "use our lungs for love and not the shadows.”  Native Tongue also features a moving collaboration with Kaela Sinclair on "The Hardest Art."

Matthew West Earns GMA Dove Award for Songwriter of the Year (Artist)

October 17, 2018

West Performs at ASCAP Christian Awards, Honored for No.1 Song "Broken Things"

“Mercy Is A Song” Three-Track Single

Now Available for Digital Download

West Continues Nationwide Trek on "The Answer/All In Tour," Gears Up for "The Roadshow Christmas Tour"

Nashville, Tenn. (Oct. 17, 2018) – Matthew West took home his first GMA Dove Award for Songwriter of the Year (Artist) at the 49th Annual GMA Dove Awards Tuesday night at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. The prestigious accolade comes on the heels of the ASCAP Christian Awards, where West was honored for his No.1 hit song "Broken Things," which he later performed that evening. A tenured songwriter, West has over 100 songwriting credits to his name for artists in multiple genres.

The GRAMMY® Nominee also released a three-track single for “Mercy Is A Song” this past Friday. Featuring the original studio recording found on West's chart-topping album All In, the three-track single also includes an intimate acoustic version of the song, along with a special live performance recording featuring Jordan Feliz. The pair also released a video of the song three months prior, which has already garnered over 141 thousand views since its release.

"This song is a reminder that going all in isn’t always about what we do, but it’s about what’s been done for us. Sometimes it’s hard to let it really sink in just how much God has done for us, how much He loves us, and how free we really are," said West. "I'm glad to be giving this song its own spotlight."

Following "The Answer/All In Tour," a 20 city co-headlining fall tour with Jeremy Camp, West will be headlining Compassion LIVE’s “The Roadshow Christmas Tour." Joining West on the first-ever “The Roadshow Christmas Tour” are Matt Maher, Building 429, Plumb, Josh Wilson and Leanna Crawford, visiting arenas in November and December. For tickets and additional information, visit www.matthewwest.com.

The album containing the hit, Almost There, recently received triple platinum certification from the RIAA. Nashville, Tenn. (Oct. 2, 2018) – Philip Peters of True Artist Management, founder of Restore Haiti and a 2002 graduate of Anderson University received the school’s Distinguished Young Alumni Award distinction late last week. The honor comes post nearly two decades in the music industry alongside his development of Restore Haiti, an organization that feeds, educates and provides medical care for over 1,000 students in the country of Haiti. Anderson University has a history of being the roots to those in the music industry whose alumni include Bill and Gloria Gaither, Steven Curtis Chapman, Sandi Patty, Sidewalk Prophets and the 2018 Music Alum Award winner, Jon Mclaughlin.

“Being back on campus at Anderson reminded me how much I loved getting my education from a school that valued serving others," shares Peters. "I’m honored by this award and hope that it furthers Restore Haiti to a greater partnership with students, staff, and alumni.”

Restore Haiti’s inception dates back to 2005, five years before the devastating earthquake riddled the region. The work of nutrition, educating and providing medical care to children marginalized in Haiti has continued to grow throughout its 13 years. Restore Haiti directly employs over 50 Haitians to serve the over 1,000 students in three communities. In addition to the child sponsorship program, Restore Haiti entails disaster relief providing water and re-establishing agriculture for local farms, producing supplies and tuition for 60 schools as well as drilling wells for clean water in communities and prepares students for universities and trade schools to help provide a culture to go from poverty to provision. Peters hopes to continue the growth of Restore Haiti through more child sponsorships and partner trips aiming to take people from poverty to a new life of employment.

Peters has served on the True Artist Management team for 16 years. His sojourn with the long-time artist management company dates back to 7X GRAMMY® winner TobyMac’s first solo record, Momentum, which has been followed by a string of RIAA Gold Certified albums. Peters continues to work with the multi-platinum selling artist who is now readying his first new record in three years, The Elements, out Oct. 12. In his position, Peters also works with GRAMMY® winner Mandisa, a working relationship that began following her journey on American Idol.

FOR GIRLS LIKE YOU Magazine Unveils New Cover Honoring Legacy of Founder, Wynter Pitts

September 21, 2018

Pitts’ Four Daughters and Special Guest Contributors Shine the Light of Her Dream in Sept/Oct Issue, Available Now

Nashville, TN ... (September 21, 2018) - A champion for mothers and daughters everywhere through her books and global speaking engagements, Wynter Pitts launched For Girls Like You as a quarterly print magazine for tween girls on a borrowed laptop in 2012. In no time, For Girls Like You amassed thousands of subscribers from every state in the union, as well as readers in Australia, South Africa, England and more. When Pitts unexpectedly passed away this past July, her family and staff came together to continue publishing the magazine in honor of her memory and to fulfill her mission and vision: to empower and equip girls to walk boldly into becoming who God created them to be, and to provide parents with the resources and support needed to raise strong Christ followers.

The September/October issue, available now, is a tribute to Wynter's legacy and features her and husband Jonathan’s four girls (Alena, Kaitlyn, Camryn and Olivia) on the cover. It is widely known that it was her girls she most wanted to influence, and so she poured her heart and soul into touching every part of the magazine with this personal passion.

As Jonathan Pitts wrote in the Welcome Letter for this special issue: “Wynter started shining God’s light in this magazine and her light is still shining even though she is gone. God put her here on this earth for a time because he had a job for her to do, and a work for her to accomplish. She did that job very well. She shined the light for girls just like you, including her daughters, and now we want to keep bringing you this magazine, so every issue can continue Wynter’s dream, and be a light to encourage you to find and know God’s love and light.”

Each issue of For Girls Like You is fun, interactive, “edutainment" and features contributions and interviews from familiar faces as well as everyday girls who are choosing to live and shine for Christ. Regular contributors and partners in the magazine’s ministry include AMERICAN HERITAGE GIRLS, DANNAH GRESH'S SECRET KEEPER GIRLS and ERIN WEIDEMANN'S BIBLE BELLES. Also inside, girls will find Bible study, current fiction, visits to girls around the globe, craft ideas, games and puzzles, and most of all, opportunities for readers to contribute to every issue through SPRINKLES, where art work, stories, poems, dreams, news, anything readers want to send in are shared or by answering the “question of the issue” as presented through the magazine’s email newsletter.

The September/October issue includes all of this as well as a spread where readers can get to know Alena, Kaitlyn, Camryn and Olivia, and a few special sections in memory of Pitts:

Chrystal Evans Hurst, Wynter’s “sister-cousin" penned the feature article “Wynter’s Last Yes,” along with Adie Camp, wife of Jeremy Camp, encouraging readers in a piece entitled “When Someone You Love Dies.” Additionally, several friends’ of the Pitts family including Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Natalie Grant, Rebekah Lyons and Emily West wrote letters to her four daughters.

The passion that started with her four girls spilled over into a bigger community with For Girls Like You, is spelled out in Wynter’s own words on the website:

As Christian parents, we have a difficult job. On one hand we need to be invested in our daughter’s interests and passions. On the other hand, we need to be instilling values and boundaries that will last a lifetime.

Our daughters are growing up and wanting “to know” and be in “the know.” They are dying to watch the shows that their friends are talking about. They are doing their best to imitate their BFFs and want to have on trendy clothes just like “so and so”.  Even if they aren’t hearing it in your home, they are beginning to memorize the latest pop songs on radio. While there may be nothing wrong with any of these things in and of themselves, they should not be the driving force behind our daughter’s identity. Think about it. What and who is defining the wants of our little girls?

There are few healthy entertainment options for our daughters in today’s culture.  In fact, most of it contradicts the very values we are striving to implant.

As a part of the solution, For Girls Like You has removed the contradicting perspectives, questionable advertisements and negative images, in order to provide a safe environment for our girls to freely explore their God-given passions. It is my desire that this be an added source to assist you in your efforts to raise beautiful and healthy daughters whose identity is wrapped up in the love of Jesus.
